FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ’S) REGARDING STRETCH TENTS

What colour must I use?
The colour you may use will depend on several factors. It might be a matching colour with the theme of the décor or furniture that you are using, or matching with the building or sounding landscape elements, or simply your preferred colour.
It might also be a colour that corresponds with your brand or logo. Majority of clients use white for weddings. Available colours in stock are white, red, grey, silver or beige, which are the most popular. Besides those colors brown, black, green, orange, pink, and some mixed colors such as black & green or a vibrant pink & orange.
These colours are available in different sizes. Contact us to check if the color you want is available in the needed size. Find out if you can order your stretch tent for sale in a particular colour of your choice.
Can the weather influence in my event?
Weather is indeed one of the principal reasons why people use stretch tents. They can create temporary spaces with a perfect atmosphere in order to provide comfort to your guests. Either if it is hot or cold outside, once you come inside the space of a stretch tent, you will instantly feel the comfort. Finest results can be achieved using gas heaters or fans under the stretch tent according to the season, so that temperature can be controlled easier. Tents can host your event either during the day or at night.
Stretch tents for sale are always a good wind barrier, wind is a frequent reason why clients hire or buy tents, however wind speeds must be taken into consideration when holding an event under a stretch tent; it is recommendable to put the stretch tent down for temporary structures when wind exceeds 50Km/h.
Rain is the factor that raises the most concern among clients as it is perceived to potentially ruin your event or celebration, however at Basecamp we can assure you that there is nothing to worry about. We stocked with an abundance of non-waterproofed, semi-waterproofed, & 100% waterproofed tents, which can provide different degrees of rain protection.
One ply stretch tents are not waterproofed, these are mostly used to provide protection against the sun. Two ply tents provide medium protection for rain, they can be used for light rain or showers. Three ply and coated tents are fully waterproofed and will resist medium/heavy rain falls. These fabrics are also used for permanent and semi-permanent structures, which can also be accompanied with outdoor blinds, which are a very popular element in open restaurant areas.
Tentickle Stretch Tents SA will take into consideration the weather conditions on the day of your event or in your area and advise you on the best option depending on the best available stretch tent. You can also specify a desired category upfront. Stretch tents can be reallocated if necessary according to the weather conditions.
When will the stretch tent be set up and broken down?
This will be conveyed with you as per your convenience and our schedule. Setup can be on the day of the event or even the day before. Tents are normally one of the first elements that need to be erected to allow the rest of the gear to be installed later. The same for the breakdown, it will be agreed with you and we will always try to accommodate to your possibilities.
How long does it take to set up or breakdown a tent?
Depending on the size of the tent, the conditions or facilities of the venue, the complexity of the setup and the weather, a tent setup can take from 1 to 4 hours max. A permanent structure can take a bit longer also depending on the scope of work needed. Breakdown process tent to be much faster, normally 1/3 of the time it took to set up.

Tips & Ideas For Your Marquee Wedding

Tips & Ideas For Your Marquee Wedding

A marquee wedding… we must confess, we just love them. We can’t help but be impressed with the fabulous things couples do when they have a blank canvas to work with. And the guests? Well, they just love weddings in marquee tents – because, what’s not to love? They get the best of indoors and outdoors, and a wonderful intimate party feeling even when hundreds are attending. If this sounds good to you, here’s some key info to get you started.
Hiring a marquee
There are companies, such as Tentickle Stretch Tents,  who specialise in providing stretch tents and marquee tents – unique-looking structures erected on poles and ropes, very festival in feeling, and unlimited in size and configuration options. They are weatherproof, stylish and modern.

Tents can be erected on any surface, come with wooden floors, and all equipment is designed for maximum functionality and elegance.

Things to think about
Of all the reasons to have a marquee wedding tents, looks definitely take the top spot – the tents are simply gorgeous. But there are so many other reasons why you should! How about:
• Catering – hire whoever you like
• Huge flexibility with guest numbers
• No usual fees like corkage or room hire
• An enclosed tent is a safe space for kids
• Doing your own thing – personalise as much as you like
• Your own exclusive space – no sharing a venue with other couples
• Work all year round – yes, you could have a marquee in the winter
• A complete blank canvas – whatever decor you want, you shall have
• Pitch anywhere – yes, you could have your wedding wherever you like
• No quitting time – depending where you pitch, you could really party all night
If you’re considering a marquee wedding, we recommend not waiting until the last minute. During warm seasons marquees are in huge demand, so starting your research early and booking well in advance is best.
There are five things that make a marquee wedding different from a venue wedding. These are: the loos, power supply, chillout area, heating/cooling, and furniture. Many marquee companies will supply all these themselves, or will recommend trusted suppliers. Read our ‘where to start’ guide to make everything simple, and to make sure you ask all the right questions when hiring your supplier.

Marquee decor
Being clever with your booking time also means arranging everything will be much easier – after all, this is your blank canvas. Whatever you imagine, it can be created – so start the planning as soon as you can.
Having a completely blank canvas for your marquee wedding decor is exhilarating, but it could also be intimidating. How do you fill all that space? Don’t worry – it’s not all going to be empty. Once you agree on the layout of furniture, stage, dance floor and chillout area, you’ll find most of the area is filled – leaving you a much smaller job to do. Your marquee company will likely be providing all the furniture too, and they’ll discuss the layouts with you once you make your booking. Or if you’re hiring a separate supplier, you’ll need to take the essential information like size, shape and number of guests, and work out the plan in a meeting.

Many brides think something must be done with the great expanse of space overhead – but the truth is, it looks elegant on its own, and doesn’t need much embellishment at all. You could take the focus away from the ceiling by going for a beautiful theme with the tables. This could be one strong colour accent, or big floral arrangements for centrepieces, or every table done in a different colour. Standing plants and trees are also a great and easy decorating option you could hire.

If you’re having a Christmas-time marquee wedding, some of the space will probably be taken up by the tree and festive embellishments. You could have this anytime during December – people are already quite in the festive spirit by then, and your gorgeous decor will make them feel extra jolly for sure.
There are some decorations that look particularly good in a marquee – it just seems to fit! These are: bunting, pom-poms or lanterns hanging from the ceiling, and strings of lights. They can all be hired, bought or inexpensively made.

Inspiring Stretch Tent Décor Ideas for Weddings

Stretch tents first came onto the scene in the early 2 000s. Their ability to be set up almost anywhere (like rooftops and jetty’s) and in many different ways made them the preferred alternative to more traditional tents, such as marquees. These uber-versatile structures quickly gained popularity among event organisers and wedding planners, largely because of the relatively small cost required in transforming these temporary structures into one-of-a-kind spaces.
All stretch tents start out as the proverbial blank canvases – their unique curvature and natural lines serving as principal décor feature. Naturally, the choice of additional pieces has to compliment, if not enhance, the style of the occasion. This is often very easily achieved through simple lighting combinations, colour coordination and the use of appropriate furniture.

Décor Ideas for Weddings

Par cans. This is the simplest way to add lighting.
Place LED par cans in the corners of the tent and adjust them to shine up onto the tent’s surface. The light will disperse over the fabric and conjure playful shadows that dance between the dips and curves.
Top tip: The general rule is to use between two and three lights for every 75m² of tent.

The same par cans, or smaller versions thereof, can be clamped onto tent poling for a different effect (do consult the head tent hire rigger regarding positioning).
Different coloured LEDs are available, so you can mix and match these depending on the colour scheme.

Fairy lights. A classic choice, especially for weddings. Place the lights along the natural lines of the edges to create a magical atmosphere. Also place them up and down the guide ropes as a sophisticated way of making the ropes visible to guests.
The lightweight nature of fairy lights makes it possible to criss-cross them inside the tent, using the poles as attachment point.

Lanterns. Hang lanterns from the edges or along the guide ropes of the tent to add extra charm.

Chandeliers. Take your lighting game to the next level with the most romantic light fixture of them all.

Romantic palettes. The most inexpensive way to dress a stretch tent is with the right choice of colour. Play on the the colour of the tent with contrasting hues.

Make an entrance. A dedicated entryway for the bride and groom, like this leafy arch in front of the tent, makes an elegant statement.

Fauna and flora. Bring your wedding to life in the literal sense with plants and greenery. The greens will pair well with a gold and purple colour scheme.

The more the merrier. Instead of using one big tent, link a few different-coloured tents together.
